Broken bones at the Swim party

Tayshaun and I went to Asyah's 6 year old birthday party over the weekend. Unfortunately for Tayshaun, he was the only one who didn't know how to swim by himself. So I ran and purchased some floaties so he could be in the deep with the rest of the kids.

Later in the day and after the swimming, Lucius decided to be a daredevil and jump from seven stairs down to a landing. He fell and landed on his arm. He was in quite a bit of pain and finally his mom decided to take him to the emergency. Tayshaun and I waited around for them to return but it was getting late so we left. Tayshaun was pretty upset. He knew how much pain Lucius was in so he talked about the accident quite a bit on the ride home.

Here's part of our conversation..."Mom do you think Lucius is going to have to have a shot?" "Babe, I'm pretty certain he has a broken bone so he might need a shot." "Will he have to stay overnight in the hopidal?" "No, but he might not be able to swim for the rest of the summer." "Oh Man!"

Then it was quiet for a little bit while he processed what we'd just talked about.

"Geez, Mom! I hope he didn't break his funny bone!" I sutlely giggle to myself. "Why not, honey?" "Because he probably won't be able to laugh anymore silly!" Now I'm laughing. "What?! What's so funny?" "I'm pretty sure he broke his arm, Tayshaun. I think his funny bone is fine."

I love that he's still a little boy.
