That made me feel really badly so I decided that I'd have our tree up this weekend. So...

Well, I decided that I was tired of our decorations and needed to shop for new ones. Now keep in mind...it's the 5th of December; I don't have a tree up; I've bought only two present so far and I'm out shopping for Christmas decorations. Hahahaha! Really dumb - which I realized after two hours in the craft store and lots of things in my shopping cart...not pertaining to Christmas. So it's 8:30pm on a Saturday night and I'm still in a craft store, no Christmas tree up, no presents...and a book and a movie waiting for my attention at home. So I give up the idea and walk out of the craft store $85 later and still no Christmas accessories. Needless to say, same Christmas decorations as always!
We had made a "practice" ginger bread house, Thanksgiving weekend. I'd never attempted one before and good thing we practiced 'cause this is our creation.... (well, it's been licked, chipped, and snacked on since then). No doubt I'll be right back up in THAT kitchen to start on a Gingerbread Train after I've finished posting this...'cause Tayshaun has been downstairs to ask me three times already when I'm going to start on it.
A couple of weeks ago, Tayshaun asks me to make him some spareribs. I don't cook much at home anymore and while the ribs were cooking, Tayshaun comes running to the kitchen and says "Mom!!! It smells like a restaurant in here. Yummy!" Well, that just made me feel like a horrible mom. So right then and there I decided that for the month of December I was going to be Ms. Betty Crocker. So while we were decorating I also had chicken chiptole tortilla soup simmering.
We also made Christmas cookies. Just before I started, I asked Tayshaun to come up and give me a hand. Well, he'd already planted himself in front of the television with a Christmas movie on and the blankie wrapped around himself. So his response was "why don't you just go ahead and get started Mom and I'll help you scoop the cookies on the pan and THEN I'll help you eat the cookies. K?" ....just like a man. GRRRR!
A little later I decided to try to get some Christmas shots to get Christmas cards made with Tayshaun pic BUT....

It looks like we'll be buying Christmas cards this year.

It's getting harder and harder to get Tayshaun to pose; he either wants to make a crazy face or he gives me a fake smile. See...

We haven't been to see Santa this year yet but Tayshaun was a little down yesterday and he finally confessed to me. He says "Mom, do you think I'm on Santa's naughty list?" My response was "do you think you should be on Santa's naughty list?". He stalled for a second and then said....."yeah...I'm pretty sure I'm on Santa's naughty list!" He was very depressed and sad. So all I could say was, "Tayshaun, why don't you just try to do you're best and be a good boy. Maybe Santa will see you're trying."
I know Tayshaun's on Santa's Naughty List!!!!! But unfortunately, this "Santa" is a Whuss and will be bringing Tayshaun more than just coal...if I can ever get the drive to go Christmas shopping!
LMAO! He told me the other day, "I'm finally, finally, finally, fiiiiiiiiiiiiinally on Santa's good list."
