Last weekend Tayshaun visited his father. As we were driving to preschool one morning, Tayshaun decided to share a conversation with me that they had during the visit....
Tayshaun: My dad told me I can live with him when I get bigger.
Me: He did? Did he ask you if you wanted to live with him?
Tayshaun: Yup. And I told him "No."
Me: You did? And what'd he say?
Tayshaun: Why don't you want to live with me?
Me: And why don't you want to live with him?
Tayshaun: I told him he's not my dad. And he said that hurts my feelings.
Me: Why'd you say he's not your dad?
Tayshaun: 'Cause I told him Hancock's my dad and you're gonna marry him.
Me: Hancock's an actor, babe.
Tayshaun: That's what my dad said.
Me: And did he laugh.
Tayshaun: No
Me: Well, Hancock's Will Smith.
Tayshaun: I know Mom but would you just marry him?!
Me: (Giggling) Babe, I don't think Karate Kid would like that very much.
My Thoughts: But I would like that, VERY MUCH. Yummy!!!!!
Will, will you be our Daddy?!
