Honestly

What to do, What to do. Little Man got a sharp haircut as baseball season began. Sorry I forgot to take pics. He asked to have a baseball and #9 design on the back of his head. Looked really good and, needless to say, he got lots of attention from it, which always led into the baseball subject. He got questioned by strangers with...."so you play baseball, huh? What position do you play?" And Tayshaun's response was "Yea, I play shortstop." This went on and on until his design finally grew out. Well Tayshaun is playing in the 7-8 year old league - and being that he's 6 and is still a goof off in sports Well, excuses or not, he's definitely NOT playing shortstop. So whenever he would answer these questions with the same answer each time, I'd look at him to see if he was going to spy me out to bust his lie. But he never did. I started to wonder if he knew what position shortstop was.

But then one day, grandma missed his game so when she saw him she asked for an update of the game. This was his reply, " yea, we beat 'em!" She asked if he did well. His reply, "yea, I hit a home run and hit two other boys in." She asked him what position he played. And he replied his usual response, "shortstop".

Well this conversation went on while I wasn't there so when Mom saw me she told me she'd heard that Tayshaun hit a homerun and that their team had won. I started laughing. "Yea, right." In this level, the boys are hitting from a pitching machine. Tayshaun has hit the ball once this season and has mostly struck out. And they got slaughtered at the game. So i thought mom was joking or being sarcastic. But when she told me the story that Tayshaun told her I was like, "what?!". So I finally decided to confront him.

So I later asked Tayshaun, why did you tell grandma that you hit a homerun? He said, "I don't know." But his answer was nonchalant like what's the problem with that. I told him, "well you know that's a lie, right?" And he answer, "Yea". I told him "you're not supposed to lie Tayshaun. It's not a good habit." No one has asked him about baseball since. He has a normal haircut so I haven't hear him lie about baseball since then.

Funny thing, though. This week Denise and Elena found themselves with four free movie tickets but they wanted all five of them to be able to go. So Elena tells Denise, "well one of kids are just going to have to stay home. We only have four tickets." But then Denise thought/said "well maybe I could tell them at the ticket office that we lost one of the tickets on the way up to the theater." And hearing that, Tayshaun mumbled softly but audibly,"well now that would be lying."

Oh he knows what fibbing is....little stinker,
